The Pit Ponds is a project that explores the barren area of a previous mining site, investigating what is left of the land following its closure. How do the intricate layers of time and history build up across the landscape? Are there any indications of future developments or restoration plans? During her research, Jade discovered that her grandfather had worked and unfortunately passed away on site. The project is now not only a story of a landscape lost amongst the passing of time, but an artefact rich with an added sense of family history and knowledge.
