JODIE LONGDON

There is a stigma within society to judge ones’ appearance by critical analysis of visual representations of the self. The stigma has been taken further through photographic portraits shared via social media and the affirmation through receiving ‘likes’. In this project Jodie experiments with portraits through fragmentation and montage which builds on the idea of surrealism. Through this a perspective of the self is seen in a new light, allowing what once may have been viewed negatively by the individual in the photograph can now be appreciated in its new form.
